What Is Grief Yoga?

Grief Yoga is a trauma informed, grief informed yoga practice where rather than talking about grief, we create the conditions for your body to process it. Using yoga to turn difficult emotions into physical sensations and then using breath and meditation to help dissolve those sensations we can transform the overwhelming experience of grief.

These classes off an embodiment practice thats here to support you when just talking about it isn't enough.

This work is rooted in:

  • Somatic Awareness

  • Breath-based regulation

  • The wisdom of the Koshas (layers of being)

  • The understanding of how trauma effects the nervous system

Grief Yoga is not therapy — but it is deeply therapeutic.

What To Expect

What This Practice Feels Like

If you are hesitant to sign up because you’re afraid of what might surface your not alone. Many people avoid their feelings because they were never shown what to do with them or how to feel them safely. Here we will be able to do both of those things.

In each class, you can expect:

  • Accessible movement that supports emotional processing without overwhelm. There is no thinking, only moving and breathing

  • Breathwork that uses the lungs as support. As the lungs expand, space is created. As space is created, emotions can move and dissipate

  • Clear, grounding guidance with full permission to pause, modify, or rest when needed

  • A nervous system informed practice that prioritizes your safety, choice, and healing

  • Permission to turn off your camera. This gives you all the privacy you need to feel comfortable

Classes are held live on Google Meet—you’ll just need a computer or device with internet access. Class can be taken from a chair if there are mobility issues.

ABOUT LINDSAY

Lindsay Hope is a teacher with a gift for helping others gently reconnect with their bodies, their breath, and their emotions. With almost 20 years of yoga teaching experience and a background in psychology, sociology, and athletics, she brings a grounded, body-led approach to transformation through movement.

Having personally experienced how powerful yoga can be for finding calm in the midst of chaos Lindsay understands the transformational powers that yoga offers. Emotions like grief, anxiety, anger and stress often live quietly in the body long after the words have run out. Her lived experience combined with years of guiding others, allows her to meet students with deep empathy and practical tools that truly make a difference.

She's created a space where people don’t have to “talk it out” to feel better—because sometimes words aren’t enough. Her classes are designed to support your nervous system and move the emotions we often push aside through. With breathwork, intentional movement, sound, and somatic practices she helps students shift out of fight-flight-freeze mode and into rest, release, and reconnect mode.

What sets Lindsay apart is her ability to hold space for vulnerability while also guiding with clarity and strength. Students describe her teaching as compassionate yet steady, giving them the confidence to soften, feel, and let go at their own pace.

She holds certifications in Grief Yoga, Hatha, Hot Set Series, Yoga For First Responders, Yin, and is trauma informed certified—training that equips her to safely guide people through tender emotions and hard times.

She looks forward to seeing you on the mat
